Terre Haute, In. – A new Task Force has been in the city of Terre Haute. The trash Task Force was formed with the focus of reducing trash and large items in alleys. According to a social media post by Mayor Sakbun the task force is made up of the city’s public works administrative team and the street, maintenance and code enforcement departments. The task force spends one day a week rotating through code enforcement districts. It will use two trailers and address items that are not reported through 311. The mayor says the task force averages six to eight trailer loads a week of large-item pickups on top of the 311 large-item collections program. The mayor says the easiest way to dispose of large items is utilizing the 311 system. However, the city recognizes that some items are often not the fault of the property owner. Our goal is to eliminate the need to even have this task force. Please encourage your friends and neighbors to utilize the 311 system.
