Terre Haute, In. In December 2022 Azujuan Meriwether of Wisconsin led police on a high-speed chase that began on State Road 63 in vermillion County and ended at U.S. 41 and Linden Street in Terre Haute. When he was finally stopped, the police recovered a large amount of drugs in his vehicle.  Last week Meriwether was sentenced to 15 years in federal prison for drug and firearm offenses, according to the United States Attorney’s Office. An investigation revealed that Meriwether was the leader of an armed drug trafficking organization that is responsible for distributing drugs and firearms.
