VIGO COUNTY, Ind. – At last night’s Vigo County School Board meeting the topic of getting students to the polls was a major part of the meeting.
The Vigo County School Corporation decided not to go through with the idea of using school corporation buses to transport student voters on Primary Election Day.
The board wants to do something to help students vote but no one seems to know what they want to do.
The board has directed the administration to come up with other potential options, but they don’t have much time as there is only two weeks before primary election day.
Of course, early voting is going on now so if students want to vote they could do it today.
Schools officials have been quoted as saying that only 28 students have expressed interest in taking a school bus to go vote.
