VIGO COUNTY, Ind – A Vigo County School bus was hit while slowing for a railroad crossing in southern Vigo County Thursday afternoon just before 3 p.m.

Vigo County Sheriff’s Deputy Brent Hall says that while the bus was slowing and preparing to stop it was struck in the rear by a commercial truck at the rail crossing at US41 and Harland Drive.

No students were on board the bus at the time of the accident.

No serious injuries were reported.

Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene.
