VIGO COUNTY, Ind – A Vigo County woman is recovering after she jumped out of her car going 60 miles per hour Friday morning around 9 A.M.

18-year-old Maria Alvarado was driving down State Road 246 when she jumped from the vehicle.

Police say when she jumped out that’s when the car rolled over into a nearby yard.

Alvarado was air-lifted to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis but the extent of her injuries are not clear but they are not life threatening.

There was a male in the back seat but it is not known if he was injured.
