SULLIVAN COUNTY, Ind – A motorcycle collided with a dear Sunday evening on SR58 just east of Merom.
Sullivan County Sheriff’s Deputies say that the driver was eastbound on SR58, nearing CR300 So., when a deer darted into the motorcycle’s path.
Upon impact, both driver and passenger were thrown from the bike.
Neither were wearing helmets.
The driver was flown to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis and is listed in critical condition.
The passenger was last listed in serious but stable condition at Terre Haute Regional Hospital.
Names have not yet been released.
Sullivan Sheriff Clark Cottom emphasized the dangers of riding a motorcycle after dark, especially in rural areas.
