VIGO COUNTY, Ind – At Monday’s Vigo County School Board meeting the board approved a new suicide prevention policy.

The policy is required by state law and is intended to provide procedures to help prevent, assess the risk of, intervene in, and respond to suicide.

Suicide is a leading cause of death among young people.

The law requires training for teachers in grades 5-12.
