TERRE HAUTE, Ind.  – One person was killed in a car pedestrian accident Sunday night in Terre Haute.

City Police say that it happened just before 9 p.m. at the intersection of 17th and Poplar Streets.

Witnesses told officers that a person was walking across Poplar Street when they were hit by a westbound car.

Police are continuing to investigate.
