VIGO COUNTY, Ind – Five people have expressed interest in filling a soon to be vacant Vigo County Council Seat and there is still time for others to file for the seat.
The seat opened when Democrat Councilman Brendan Kearns was elected to the District 1 seat on the Vigo County Board of Commissioners.
Former Councilman Rick Burger, former state representative Clyde Kersey, Terre Haute Fire Chief Jeff Fisher, ISU math professor Lisa Spence, and Bill Verdeyen are all hoping to be elected to fill the seat.
Democrat candidates have until 72 hours prior to the party’s 6 p.m. December 4th party caucus at the Vigo County Annex to file a written notice of candidacy.
