TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Indiana State Police are investigating a police action shooting in Terre Haute.

Terre Haute City Police were assisting West Terre Haute Police who were chasing a suspect around 10:30 Tuesday night.

The suspect apparently ran a red light in West Terre Haute.

Police say the chase ended at 10th Street and Wabash Avenue.

Officers say that the driver got out of the vehicle with a gun and shots were exchanged.

The male driver was shot and killed.

No officers were injured.

An autopsy is scheduled on the suspect for today.

A name has not been released.
