VIGO COUNTY, Ind. – Another deadline has been set by the federal judge overseeing the lawsuit against the county over conditions at the jail.
The Terre Haute City Council recently put a halt on the county’s previous plans to put the jail on the old International Paper property.
City council members denied the rezoning request for that property.
Vigo County leaders have been ordered to update the judge on where they plan to put the new jail before January 14th of 2019.
Community commissioners have indicated that they hope to have an agreement for a new site in a couple of weeks.
