VIGO COUNTY, Ind – Vigo County Sheriff’s detectives are investigating an apparent shoplifting at a north side convenience store.

Police say that just after midnight Monday morning a man allegedly was seen shoplifting inside Hoosier Pete’s Phillips 66 at the intersection of Lafayette Avenue and Park Avenue.

The clerk followed the suspect outside and was pepper-sprayed the clerk and fled the area in a car with a female driver.

Police are continuing their investigation.
