PARKE COUNTY, Ind – The Parke County Sheriff’s Department recovered a stolen truck from West Terre Haute Tuesday morning just before 8:00 a.m. east of Rosedale.
While officers were processing that vehicle, they also received a report of a truck being stolen in Rosedale and then a few minutes later, a person reported a truck matching the description of the stolen truck as being involved in a single vehicle accident on C.R. 600 W, just a few miles north of US 41 and the occupant was seen fleeing into the woods on foot.
Officers went to that area and began searching for the suspect.
Not long after that the suspect was seen fleeing the area on a stolen ATV.
Eventually officers arrested Bryan S Roberts of West Terre Haute.
Police say that two of the stolen vehicles contained firearms and other items suspected of being stolen. Many of those items were belived to be stolen from a Clay County business overnight.
Roberts was treated at Union Hospital for injuries sustained from either the motor vehicle accident or from hitting an embankment on the ATV.
He is being held in the Parke County Jail on numerous charges.
