SULLIVAN, Ind – City officials in Sullivan are calling for an emergency demolition of a building just one block away from city’s downtown square.
The building’s facade at 20 East Washington St that housed Jerry’s Body Shop collapsed last October and now the building next door at 22 East Washington has also partially collapsed.
The City of Sullivan officially condemned the building earlier this year and has now seeking an Emergency Demolition.
The timeline of the demolition has not been determined and will depend on contractors.
Officials are asking residents to avoid the area.
