EDGAR COUNTY, Ill. – Tuesday (8/20/19) afternoon just after 4:00 p.m. Edgar County, Ill and Vermillion County, Indiana Deputies were called to a fatal accident just inside Illinois near St. Bernice.

It happened on CR 1625N about 176 feet into Illinois.

Police say that 35 year old William M Wilkey of rural Paris was riding his Harley Davidson Motorcycle when he failed to negotiate a sharp 90 degree curve.

Wilkey struck a car 77 year old Maurice E Straw of rural Chrisman.

Straw tried to avoid the accident and off the road onto a grassy shoulder but was still hit.

Wilkey was ejected from the motorcycle and taken to Union Hospital Clinton and Lifelined to a Hospital in Indianapolis where he passed away Wednesday morning.

Straw and his three passengers were un-injured during the accident.
