CLARK CO., Ind. — A mistrial in the case of Joseph Oberhansley, the Indiana man accused of killing and eating his ex-girlfriend in 2014.
A judge in Clark Co. ordered a mistrial Thursday afternoon, reports Aprile Rickert of the News & Tribune.
The defense and prosecution both told the judge that a witness mentioned Oberhansley’s criminal background, which had already been barred from being introduced as evidence.
A new jury will be selected. The trial will resume in September.
