CLINTON COUNTY, Ind – Friday (3/27/20) morning just after 1:00 a.m. an Indiana State Police Trooper responded to a call about a reckless driver on I-65 in Clinton County. The suspect vehicle was said to be driving 40 mph, swerving from lane to lane, and driving without headlights.
Just as the Trooper came up behind the vehicle, it nearly struck a semi. As the officer tried to stop the car, the driver sped away and led police on a chase through at least two counties. The chase came to an end when the driver attempted to drive through a field but became stuck.
The driver fled the scene on foot, but not before leaving a shoe behind in the mud near the vehicle. Eventually a Boone County Deputy Ryan Musgrave and his K9 partner Chase found 26-year-old Francis Joseph of Chicago naked laying on his back a short distance away from the vehicle.
Joseph was arrested and his clothes were located in the field. He didn’t tell police why he took them off.
He is facing multiple charges.
