WEST TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Police are investigating shots fired in western Vigo County around 8:30 a.m. Saturday morning.
It happened near South Crews Place west of West Terre Haute.
According to Matt Ames with Indiana State Police, the scene is secure and there is no threat to the public.
Ames says that officers were called to the area about a suspicious person.
When they arrived officers reportedly tried to speak with the person over a public address system and were fired upon.
No injuries were reported.
The Terre Haute Police Special Response Team was called in to subdue the suspect.
The investigation is continuing.
