More Details Released In Clay County Shooting Investigation

CLAY COUNTY, Ind – On Monday the Clay County Sheriff’s Department released more information about a Sunday morning shooting.

Chief Deputy Josh Clark says that around 12:30 a.m. officers were called to 5131 West State Road 340.

Residents approached police when they arrived and told them that 35 year old James Hill was still in the home.

He suffered from three gunshot wounds and was taken to Regional Hospital for treatment.

Hill was last listed in stable condition.

Witnesses told police that there was an altercation which led to gunfire between Hill and another resident.

Police have not yet released the identity of the second person.

Officers are continuing their investigation.

Information will then be forwarded to the Clay County Prosecutor and more details may then be released.
