Some Creditors Could Legally Take Your Stimulus Check

INDIANA –  You may have heard that your creditors can snatch your coronavirus relief payment out of your bank account.

If you lost a judgement in civil court or you’re paying off debt in bankruptcy, it’s true that creditors can take their money from your payment. You’d have to get a court to block enforcement of the order. But the Indiana Supreme Court has ruled against the issuance of any new orders garnishing funds in your bank account.
