West Terre Haute Man Arrested After Standoff With Police

WEST TERRE HAUTE, Ind – One man was arrested Tuesday afternoon after a domestic situation on Center Avenue in West Terre Haute.

It all started when Vigo County Deputies were called to 1844 W. Locust Ave in western Vigo County about a domestic disturbance.

When deputies arrived on scene, they were told that the victim had already been taken to the hospital for treatment. Deputies were advised that the suspect was at 2547 W Center Ave, and that he was believed to be armed with a firearm.

The Terre Haute Police Special Response Team was then called in.

33-year-old Edward Wilson was later taken into custody and taken to the hospital for treatment.

Wilson was arrested and charged with rape, sexual battery, intimidation, criminal confinement, domestic battery with serious bodily injury, interfering with the reporting of a crime and dealing and possession of marijuana.

Police are continuing their investigation.

Wilson is set to appear in court today (4-22-20).
