TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – A COVID-19 testing tent was set up in Terre Haute today (4/25/20); at least that is what the sign said.
The sign on the pop-up tent at US 41 and Margaret Avenue.
The people running the tent told a reporter from News 10 that they were doctors from Crawfordsville.
Testing cost $75.
The Vigo County Health Department posted a statement saying that “There is only one FDA approved rapid response kit for COVID-19, and it isn’t being sold out of a tent in Terre Haute.”
The prosecutor’s office has shut down this testing and is investigating.
Vigo County Prosecutor Terry Modesitt said that as of Saturday evening no charges had yet been filed. He said that he wasn’t sure how many were tested before being shut down but that two people were being tested when he walked up.
