PARKE COUNTY, Ind – Around 12:30 Saturday afternoon (6/13/20) Parke County first responders were called to a single vehicle crash neat CR 360 West on US41.

Police say that 17 year old Roger Crowder was northbound US 41 when he failed to slow down when approaching stopped traffic. Crowder abruptly hit the brakes and swerved to the right causing the SUV to roll onto its driver side. The vehicle skidded into a utility pole and came to rest nearly in the garden of a home near the scene.

Deputies say that 72 year old Lester Dale Vandevender was flown from the scene for treatment of a back injury.

Crowder was treated at the scene for some scrapes and released.
