UNIVERSAL, VERMILLION COUNTY, Ind – Around 8:40 PM Sunday (6/14/20) evening Vermillion County 911 Dispatch received a call about a small child that was un-responsive after being found in a back-yard swimming pool.
When first responders arrived, Deputies and EMS provided CPR to the 2-year-old girl. The child was taken to Union Hospital in Clinton. After all life saving measures, the child did not survive the accident.
After an investigation, Deputies determined that the child had been out front of the residence playing basketball with her family. The family noticed that she was missing and began searching for her. The mother located the juvenile in the above ground swimming pool and removed her from the water. The juvenile’s father began CPR until emergency services personnel arrived on scene.
