Wabash Valley Classic winning high school coach arrested for public intoxication

Coalmont – The coach of the high school basketball team that won its first Wabash Valley Classic has been arrested on a public intoxication charge.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Department said Joseph Joe Hart, 50, of Linton, was arrested and charged with public intoxication after he was found unconscious in a car parked on a road near Coalmont in Clay County at 4:15 a.m., Saturday.

He was incarcerated in the Clay County Jail at Brazil and bond was set at $3,000.

Hart’s team, the Linton High School Miners, won the Wabash Valley Classic at Terre Haute last Thursday.
