Traffic stop leads to meth arrest in Sullivan Co.

Sullivan County – Sixty grams of methamphetamine was discovered during a traffic stop at Carlisle.

On Jan. 5, around 10 p.m., an Indiana State Police trooper stopped a 2007 Ford for disregarding a stop sign on State Road 58 at Alexander Street, near Carlisle. The driver was identified as Lena F. Ashburn, age 56, of Terre Haute. During the conversation with Ashburn, criminal indicators were detected. Sullivan City Police Officer Garrett Potter deployed a canine, which indicated a controlled substance was in the vehicle. A search of Ashburn’s vehicle located 60 grams of methamphetamine.

Ashburn failed a certified chemical test and was arrested and taken to the Sullivan County Jail where she is currently being detained.
