Terre Haute —James Skelton, a member of the Vigo County School Board is the subject of an investigation by the school board.

The investigation comes after Skelton met with the mother of a student who was the subject of racial harassment at West Vigo High School.

The mother of one of the students said she met with Skelton at halftime of the Nov. 30th Indiana State University game.

Lowe told WTWO/WAWV Skelton tried to influence her about the racial harassment allegations.

In a statement to the public, Skelton said the meeting had nothing to do with the school board and that he was not yet a member of the board.
